Dr. Maggie Bishay

Dr. Bishay desires to be an enduring source of support by standing with her clients until they grow to achieve their full potential. She has broad clinical expertise, but has special interest in working with clients on issues like trauma, addictions, domestic violence, depression, parental issues, and life choices. Dr. Bishay’s research focuses on the effects of biculturalism in immigrant families. She enjoys working with immigrant populations, focusing on helping families adapt to new cultural norms and habits.

Dr. Bishay has worked extensively with trauma affected populations in a variety of settings. She specializes in working with individuals who experience recurring trauma throughout their lives and works with both adults and children. Dr. Bishay is trained in EMDR, an evidence-based intervention for treating trauma.

Dr. Bishay has special expertise in working with couples, and offers marital and pre-marital counseling. Of particular interest is working with couples who are experiencing some level of violence in their relationships. She is certified in a variety of relationship building curriculums including Marriage LINKS and Prepare and Enrich. She frequently leads workshops for couples that focusing on creating healthy relationship habits, and has partnered with a church in St. Croix, Virgin Islands to lead the training internationally.

Dr. Bishay provides bilingual counseling in Arabic. She is a graduate of Argosy University in Chicago. She is active in her church and enjoys spending time with her family.
