Following the completion of his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Management from Manhattan College, Dn. Daniel completed his Master of Divinity at St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, Pennsylvania. In March of 2008, he was ordained as a sub-deacon and went on to complete a six month liturgical training program at the Orthodox Theological Seminary, Kottayam. Following his return from India, Semassan completed a chaplain internship at the VA New York Health System while serving as the Manager of the Northeast American Diocesan Center. He then went on to complete a year-long residence program in Clinical Pastoral Education at the United Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota. From 2011-2013, Semassan served as the Youth Minister of St. Gregorios Orthodox Church of Houston and completed a dual program at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, which included a Chaplain Fellowship in Mental Health, and Internship in Substance Abuse Counseling. From 2012-2013, he also served as the General Secretary of the MGOCSM of North America. Dn. Daniel is presently working as a Mental Health & Hospice/Palliative Care Chaplain at VA Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. In addition, he presently serves as the Coordinator for the MGOCSM Missions Program in North America.
